This Guy Should Play Ant-Man
A few days ago, I was watching Firefly with my buddy. I had seen Serenity, the movie that came after the series, but not much of the full show. The ship’s pilot was really funny, and I loved the fact that he was Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball. The guy’s name is Alan Tudyk, and he seems kind of cool in a nerdy sort of way. When I started to think about it, I realized that’s what Hank Pym should be like. This guy has a nice, good natured kind of humor that I think will work well. I still havn’t thought out exactly what kind of role Pym should have in the Avengers, but he will be part of the movies sooner or later. Pym might just have a supporting role a scientist who gets a full movie later, which won’t be a problem with me. Still, this guy is a great actor and a solid addition to the franchise. There had been some much older rumors that people wanted Simon Pegg (of Sean of the Dead fame), but this never thrilled me. His comedic style doesn’t fit the character in my mind. Its Alan Tudyk that gets the Captain Otter seal of approval.
In other Avengers news, Samuel L. Jackson talked a bit about his role in Iron Man 2. While he will have full role and not just a cameo, he won’t be doing any action scenes. I didn’t expect him to. As cool as Nick Fury is, this is Iron Man’s movie. If Fury were to get some action, i have the feeling it would detract from Iron Man’s battles. We’re going to have to wait till the Avengers to see him kick some butt.
